Our newest addition...Knox!

We have been talking for some time about getting a play buddy for little Bambi. We wanted to wait until after our trip so that we wouldn't have to worry about Knox tearing up the in-laws house. So back on June 29th we adopted precious little Knox from an animal shelter about 20 minutes away.

Before we even went and looked at the kittens available we had our mind pretty set on getting an orange tabby. Lucky for us, there was a precious male orange tabby that caught our eye and stole our heart! We had to take him to the vet that day because he had some conjunctivitis and we needed some antibiotic ointment for that.

On the way there, we had the name talk. Our first thought....Oscar...then Nemo....then Eric said Knox and we knew that was his name! He is so incredibly sweet and we love him to pieces already! He has already been spayed and he gets declawed on the July 29th (busy day...more details later...). At first Bambi was nasty to him. She would hiss and growl...but now they are becoming great friends and play together!

We did have an issue with Bambi after we brought him home. We found out the hard way that Bambi is allergic to Iams brand of cat food. We think this is also what caused her to be SO sick as a kitten before we switched cat foods. She spent a few days throwing up and sleeping in the closet all day every day but she is feeling better now! In fact, she is back to normal and we will never again have Iams brand cat food in our household!

We are so thankful to have the opportunity to save little Knox from the shelter. We look forward to giving him a home full of fun and love!
