Tuesday's List: Bible Verses

I am back in the game (for now at least!!) I LOVE today's list! In fact, just yesterday I made a whole post about a Bible verse I came across on Sunday...Eric and I have grown more spiritually over the past few years than I think I had my whole life. It is something special. I cannot wait to read everyone's Bible verses! So here are my favorite Bible verses:

Philippians 4:13 I can do all through Christ who strengthens me.
This is Eric's all time favorite Bible verse and has definitely become a favorite of mine. Eric reminds me of this verse when I get overly stressed about school or even life in general. There have been times in nursing school when I really didn't think I would be able to achieve my goals, but this verse helped me achieve them. I tend to be am an over-achiever when it comes to school, therefore, I often need to be reminded that I CAN do everything I want to do. God is always there to help us along the way, no matter how hard the feat is!

Matthew 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

I sometimes can be a worry wart. Sometimes I try to draw out the future TOO much. Sometimes I worry about small things that cannot be controlled. Eric and I came across this Bible verse in one of our devotions one night and I love it. It reminds me that you cannot worry about the future. You cannot predict what will happen in the future. You need to live your life for TODAY because we do not know what tomorrow will bring! Thank you Eric, and God, for reminding me of this on many occasions!

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.

This is a Bible verse that has stuck with me for a very long time. I have been through a lot of troubles in my life. Sometimes it does not make sense as to why things happen the way they do, but we are to trust in God that he has a reason for it all. If we trust in Him and understand this, then he will lead our path of life and we shall follow. The path of Life has many bumpy parts, but with the strength and guidance of our Lord, we can get over the bumps and continue on our path of Life.

Philippians 1:3 I thank my God every time I think of you.

I found this Bible verse on a friend's facebook status and it really made me smile. The first person I thought of was of course, Eric. I even went and wrote the Bible verse on his facebook wall when I found it. I truly do thank God every time I think of Eric. He came into my life at such a pivotal time. He has helped me through some very difficult times, even very recently. If it weren't for him, I would be very lonely and lost. He and his family have given me the familial support that I have lacked most of my life. He is truly a blessing from God. He is an angel sent to earth. He is my gift from God.

Job 7:18 You examine us every morning and test us every moment.

This last one I wrote a whole blog about just yesterday (before I even realized today was Bible verse day). Here is a copy of the blog from yesterday about this Bible verse.

I came across this Bible verse yesterday and pondered on this verse all day. I think at times we often forget that we live our life for God. I want to be a good person. I want to be a positive role model. I want people to look up to me. I don't want to be a negative person. I want to be a positive, Christian woman. I want our children to grow up in a strong Christian home. I want our family to be an example for others who are also trying to live for God.

Sometimes people come into our lives as a test of our faith, our values, our morals, and our beliefs. How we act in situations depends on whether we are proactive or reactive. I want to be proactive every day. I want to make choices based on values, not on feelings or emotions.

Sometimes in life, we may question why things are the way they are, why people do some things they do, why people say things they do. But the question really is, how do WE act in response to the situation.

I am so thankful that Eric and I have grown together in Christ together. We have become closer to God together. Our faith as strengthened tremendously since we started dating. I cannot wait to find a church home in Columbia. Somewhere we feel comfortable. Somewhere we learn life lessons every time we step foot in the door. Somewhere where we are surrounded by other people living their lives through Christ.

Thank you, Lord, for opening my eyes and allowing me to learn life lessons every day. Thank you for reminding me everyday that I live my life for you.
